Welcome to the BerlinBeamBoys website. LosBBB are Dark Fader and Ray Beams. As BerlinBeamBoys they create rhythmic graphics and electronic pictures, presented as vj-performance, installation or vj-act.

14.-17.05.2009: BBB go to Geneva to visit the Mapping-Festival. We are invited to do some Outdoor-projections.

Watch out for the "Hennessy Mixing Refined DVD". We did the Visuals. The DVD is a limited Edition and comes with the Hennessy Fine de Cognac Bottle. Cheers.

THE SYSTEM:
The BBB-VisionarySystem practise the art of vj-ing (Video Jockey) a genre which has its roots in club-culture. Images are mixed and projected live to music in order to achieve a connection between music, image and the crowd. The visual material is mostly treated the same way as by DJs who create a new track out of preproduced music, by blending, mixing, sampling, scratching.
The combination of sound and image intensifies the athmosphere. The music and the reaction of the crowd can influence the creation of pictures in return.

BERLINBEAMBOYS:
what: Dark and Ray create visuals somewhere between the completely abstract and the symbolic in a process of construction and deconstruction of images. Experimenting in a loose narrative with the tension between colour, shape and rhythm, the BeamBoys output is post-linear.
how: Their graphics, animations and videos are composed and manipulated live using laptops and a videomixer. The visuals are then projected on a screen, wall or a structure with a videobeamer, always enriching the space and inspiring the crowd.
who: Dark Fader and Ray Beams live in Berlin. They have been working on their vision of painting in time and space since 2000.

Rebelde TV:

is a mobile TV-broadcast-station, with the underlying idea of putting images out of the clubcontext into the streets. A transient occupation of public space. With their "visual ghettoblaster" the BeamBoys play the marketplace of the city.
R*TV is a creative reaction to the ubiquity of corporate culture, brand communication and propaganda that have invaded the visual landscape of the cities.
Examples are the actions with the Cubabrasil Collective or the illumination of the US surveillance system at Teufelsberg, Berlin. (see showcase)

Los BerlinBeamBoys in festivalmood: Fusion-festival (D), Skankalot-festival (Swe) and Goldmund-festival (D). We had good times with our buddies from Mix-In. We did visuals for the "Mixing Refined" DVD from Hennessy. And we had some celebrated shows as "The Chip & Dale Experience". Good year, thank you.
